Summary of the 2nd edition
Sustainable Organization Management
2nd International Scientific Conference of the PUEB Institute of Management
23–24 October 2024
Join us for the second edition of the conference on Sustainable Organization Management, hosted by the Institute of Management at the Poznań University of Economics and Business (PUEB). Building upon our commitment to addressing particularly pressing business challenges and strategic research directions, this conference serves as a platform to unite scholars and practitioners in exploring innovative solutions for sustainable management practices.
We are proud to announce H&M Group x Sellpy as our strategic partner for this year’s event. Sellpy champions the ethos of circular living, advocating for sustainable consumption through the reuse of existing goods. Smart consumption for a better tomorrow by making second-hand shopping easier and accessible to all has become the mission of this organization. It enables people to buy clothes and articles in a more sustainable way, assuming that by buying and selling second-hand clothes online, water can be saved, adverse emissions can be avoided and the life of products can be extended.
The conference themes revolve around striking a balance between societal needs and environmental sustainability (sustainable production and consumption), the real world and the virtual world (digital ecology) and, as in the previous edition, between economic and social goals (sustainable development management).
Subject areas of the conference:
1. ESG Integration: Exploring the Economic, Social and Governance aspects of organizational sustainability strategies.
2. Digital Ecology: Navigating the intersection of the real and virtual worlds to promote environmental sustainability.
3. Closed-Loop Economy: Implementing circular economy principles within organizational frameworks.
4. Responsible Management: Cultivating ethical leadership and governance practices.
5. Sustainability Reporting: Communicating transparently on sustainability initiatives and impacts.
6. Environmental and Social Sustainability: Advancing practices that prioritise environmental and social well-being.
7. Sustainable Human Resource Management (SHRM): Fostering employee well-being and engagement within sustainable frameworks.
8. Risk Management: Mitigating environmental, social, and governance risks within organizations.
9. Sustainable Production and Consumption: Promoting environmentally friendly production and consumption patterns.
10. Sustainable Resource Management: Efficient management of organizational resources to minimise environmental impact.
11. Sustainable Supply Chains: Building resilient and sustainable supply chain networks.

H&M Group x Sellpy
The Sellpy story began in 2014 with a garage sale by three Swedish students. Michael, Philip and Oskar have already changed the fashion industry forever, promoting closed loop living and sustainability. Sellpy is one of the largest companies in the second-hand clothing sector in Europe – more than 20,000,000 items have already been given a second life thanks to the platform. Users can easily manage their transactions and Sellpy takes care of all aspects of the process – from describing and photographing products to customer service and delivery. Since 2021, it has been present in Greater Poland – initially in Gądki and since 2023 in the new Distribution Centre in Robakowo, from where it logistically serves as many as 24 countries. When building the Logistics Centre, it was very important to implement solutions that support the ecosystem – protecting biodiversity, reducing air pollution and having a positive impact on the environment. Sellpy provides unique retail solutions for both retailers and customers, while supporting sustainability by promoting recycling and product reuse.
